Currently, we are present in 12 university campuses with an average of 25
students per small group. We keep University students engaged with weekly
conversations in the areas of Leadership, Friendship, and Jesus
We also seek to build a community of friends who care deeply about each other
and are ready to walk together and hold each other accountable. The target is university
students and student leaders. About 150 students participate in these weekly conversations
in their different small groups on campus. By virtue of this, we commit to the following:
We are currently present in 12 University Campuses with an average of 25 students per small group. The main objective is to reach out to University students through weekly conversations on leadership, friendship and Jesus. We also seek to build a community of friends who care deeply about each other and are willing to walk with each other and hold each other accountable.
The gatherings are held to equip and build capacity of our small group coordinators so that they
become more effective in coordinating the campus groups (Outreach programs).
To remind the coordinators of the “why” we do AYLF so they can champion this in campuses.
Target is to bring together two students (coordinator and assistant) from each of the
universities we are present in and those who have expressed an interest in engaging.
This brings together all those who have interacted with AYLF together for a one-day workshop/seminar on leadership, personal development, friendship and/or Jesus. This is important to keep the work grounded among those who have been part of it. Networking and reconnecting with friends also forms a great part of this forums. We target all AYLF members both in University and young professionals. We also open doors to anyone who would like to learn about our work.
This brings together student leaders in Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC and South Sudan for a 4-day gathering. To have the participant attend the National Prayer Breakfast. To introduce the over 60% new participant to the AYLF philosophy. To engage them in conversations on leadership, friendship and Jesus. We also bring together Former Student Leaders and young professionals for the same retreat.
